I am experiencing an issue with the EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G3 power supply that I purchased. When my computer uses around 400W or more, it causes the system to reboot. Once the rebooting starts, it continues to happen repeatedly for a certain period. My system consists of an Intel i5-8400 (50W), Samsung DRAM 8G x 2ea (20W), Nvidia 1080 (210W), NVMe 2ea (30W), HDD 2ea (40W), and a motherboard (50W). I estimate that the system uses approximately 400W at maximum.
At first, I suspected that the reboots were caused by the Nvidia GPU. When I removed the GPU and used the system, the reboots did not occur. I also tested the GPU in another PC, where it operated at up to 210W and reached a temperature of 80°C without any rebooting issues.
This led me to suspect the power supply. Although I initially thought that the EVGA 1000W G3 would be reliable, I purchased a ZALMAN EcoMax 700W ATX ZM700-XEII power supply for about $40 to test under the same conditions. With this power supply, the system operated without any reboots in all situations. However, when I switched back to the EVGA 1000 G3 and performed tasks that utilized the GPU, the reboots returned.
This clearly indicates that the power supply is the issue. I had to incur additional expenses to purchase another power supply to ensure that I could keep my system running.
I kindly request a repair or replacement for this product.
